Shion Hipon's Lore

Long ago, in a quiet coastal village where the tides whispered secrets to the shore, there was a deity known as Shion Hipon. She was the guardian of the sea, a divine shrimp goddess who blessed the fishermen with bountiful harvests and calm waters. In return, the villagers worshipped her, offering gifts of food, music, and dance at her sacred shrine. But time was relentless. As the world modernized, the once-thriving village slowly emptied. Families moved to the cities, the shrine fell into disrepair, and the name Shion Hipon became nothing more than a fading legend. One day, she realized—there were no more offerings. No more prayers. No more voices calling her name.At first, she waited. Perhaps they would return. But as seasons passed, the silence remained. Frustrated and desperate, Shion made a bold decision—she would descend from divinity and live among humans. With her powers, Shion took on a human form and set out to explore the world beyond her forgotten shrine. But as soon as she stepped into a nearby town, she realized something shocking—everything had changed. The humans no longer relied on gods to bless their lives. Instead, they carried strange glowing devices, spoke into little boxes, and moved around in giant metal beasts. Temples and shrines were replaced by towering buildings, and instead of praying, people seemed to worship flashing screens and moving pictures. It was overwhelming. She fumbled with doors that opened by themselves, jumped in fear at ringing phones, and nearly got arrested for trying to "trade" fish she caught for goods in a convenience store. It took time, but through trial and error (and a few kind strangers who thought she was just a quirky country girl), Shion slowly adapted. One day, she stumbled upon an internet café, where rows of humans sat in front of screens, laughing and cheering at someone speaking through a glowing box. Intrigued, she watched. It was a person, but they weren’t just talking—they were performing, interacting with an audience that sent them gifts in return. Offerings.Realization struck. If the world no longer worshipped deities in shrines… perhaps they worshipped entertainers on the internet?Determined, she learned everything she could about technology. She struggled with keyboards, nearly broke a computer trying to "fix" it with magic, and panicked when she accidentally set an alarm on a phone. But little by little, she mastered the modern world. With a phone and a digital avatar inspired by her true form, Shion Hipon started becoming a streamer. At first, it was difficult. She had no followers, no believers. But as time passed, her unique charm, sea-themed humor, and oddly deep knowledge of shrimp won people over. Viewers sent her gifts, donations, and memberships—unknowingly offering tributes to the very goddess they had long forgotten. With the generosity of her growing audience, Shion upgraded her setup, trading her glitchy, outdated PC for a sleek, powerful machine that could showcase her streams in all their glory. Each donation felt like a prayer, each new piece of equipment a monument to her resurgence. Now, with each stream, her presence grows stronger. The shrine may be abandoned, but her faith is alive once more—not in whispered prayers, but in chat messages and donations.Faith doesn’t die—it just evolves. And so does she.
